A facelift, clinically known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that treats the main visible signs of facial ageing: sagging skin, deep wrinkles, loss of contour, and jowling. By removing excess skin and tightening the underlying tissues of the face and neck, a facelift lifts sagging that non-surgical treatments cannot.
The procedure targets the mid and lower face, jowls, and upper neck, the areas most affected by the descent of skin and soft tissue that occurs with age. The remaining skin is redraped smoothly over the treated area, producing a refreshed, rested, and naturally toned result without the artificial, stretched look associated with older techniques.
Modern facelift surgery has been refined over decades to produce results that look entirely natural. Combined with a neck lift, brow lift, or blepharoplasty, it forms the cornerstone of comprehensive facial rejuvenation. Professor Hindocha plans every facelift around the patient’s anatomy and goals.
