GENTLER BY DESIGN
Because the Preservé technique preserves your natural tissue, recovery is often quicker and more comfortable than a traditional breast augmentation. Here is what to expect, week by week.
WHY RECOVERY IS DIFFERENT
Traditional breast augmentation often divides the chest muscle and breast tissue to create space for an implant. That disruption is a major reason recovery can be uncomfortable and prolonged.
The Motiva Preservé technique works differently. By parting and preserving the tissue rather than cutting through it — and often using local anaesthetic with sedation — it typically means less bruising, less discomfort and a faster return to normal life.
Every recovery is individual. The timeline below is a general guide; Prof. Sandip Hindocha, a Motiva-certified Preservé surgeon, will give you personalised aftercare instructions and see you for follow-up throughout. Read more about the Motiva Preserve procedure.

WEEK BY WEEK
First 48 Hours
Expect some tightness and swelling. Rest, wear your support bra day and night, and take pain relief as advised. Gentle short walks help circulation.
Week 1–2
Many patients return to desk-based work within one to two weeks. Avoid lifting, reaching overhead and driving until you feel comfortable and Prof. Hindocha is happy.
Weeks 2–4
Swelling continues to settle and you can build up gentle activity and light lower-body exercise. Keep wearing your support bra as directed.
Weeks 4–6
Most patients resume full exercise, including chest and upper-body workouts, from around four to six weeks once cleared at follow-up.

AFTERCARE TIPS
Consistent support helps the implants settle and reduces swelling. Wear it as directed, usually for around six weeks.
Short, gentle walks from day one aid circulation and recovery. Avoid anything strenuous until cleared.
Sleep on your back, slightly elevated, and give your body the rest it needs in the first two weeks.
Your follow-up appointments let Prof. Hindocha check healing and guide your return to activity.
