Profhilo

An injectable treatment designed to hydrate the skin and improve its quality, without adding volume or changing the shape of your features.

ABOUT THIS TREATMENT

How Profhilo Differs From a Filler

Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment. Where dermal fillers stay in place to add volume and structure, Profhilo spreads beneath the skin surface. It does not add bulk. The manufacturer describes it as bio-remodelling and says it supports collagen and elastin in the skin.

As we age, the skin loses collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, which shows as sagging, dullness and a crepey texture. Profhilo is aimed at skin quality rather than volume, and the hyaluronic acid hydrates the treated area.

Prof. Hindocha administers Profhilo using the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique, a mapped protocol of five injection points per side designed to spread the product evenly. Treatment is delivered as two sessions four weeks apart, and any change builds gradually over about three months.

UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE

Profhilo vs Dermal Fillers

Both use hyaluronic acid. Both are injectable. But they work completely differently. Understanding which one is right for your concern saves time, money, and disappointment.

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

What to Expect in the Days That Follow

Day of Treatment

Injection Site Response

Small bumps at the injection sites are normal and expected. These resolve within 12–24 hours as the product spreads beneath the skin. Mild redness or tenderness may be present. Avoid makeup for 6 hours post-treatment.

First 24 Hours

Restrictions Period

Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat (saunas, steam rooms), and alcohol for 24 hours. This allows the product to spread evenly and reduces the risk of bruising or uneven distribution.

Weeks 1–2

Initial Hydration

The first change is usually in hydration, as the hyaluronic acid holds water in the skin. Fine surface lines caused by dehydration may begin to soften.

Weeks 4–12

Gradual Change

The second session follows at 4 weeks. Any change in firmness or texture develops gradually and can be judged at around 8–12 weeks. A top-up every 6 months maintains it if you choose to continue.

WHAT IT AIMS TO DO

Skin Quality, Not Shape

Profhilo is designed to improve skin quality without changing your features. Any change is gradual and subtle, aimed at skin that looks hydrated and healthy. No added volume. No altered structure. Just a measurably better version of your own skin.

  • More hydration across the treated area
  • Softer fine surface lines where dehydration is the cause
  • Less crepey texture
  • Better overall skin quality, without added volume or a change to your features

TIMELINE

What Happens Over Three Months

Profhilo works gradually, not immediately. Any change develops over the weeks after treatment, which the manufacturer attributes to a collagen and elastin response in the skin.

WEEKS 1–2

Hydration

The skin can feel softer and more supple as the hyaluronic acid takes effect. Fine surface lines caused by dehydration may begin to soften.

WEEKS 4–8

Second Session

The second session follows at 4 weeks. Any change in firmness and texture develops gradually after it, and varies from person to person.

WEEKS 8–12

Review

This is when the effect of the course can be judged. The aim is a natural result, so you look well rather than treated. Any effect can be maintained with a top-up every 6 months.

WHY PATIENTS CHOOSE PROFHILO

The Advantages of Bio-Remodelling

Treats the Skin, Not the Feature

Profhilo improves the quality of the skin without changing the shape of your face. The aim is better skin quality with no change to your features, which suits patients who want improvement without obvious signs of treatment.

Works Across Multiple Areas

Profhilo can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, where crepey texture, laxity and dehydration are often visible. One protocol covers the full area.

Your Skin Does the Work

Rather than introducing a long-lasting structure, Profhilo works with the processes in your own skin, and the manufacturer says it supports collagen and elastin. Any change builds gradually over about three months, not overnight.

Minimal Disruption

Two sessions of 30 minutes. Small temporary bumps that resolve within a day. No meaningful downtime and no restrictions beyond 24 hours. The treatment fits around a normal routine.

IS THIS TREATMENT RIGHT FOR YOU?

Who Is Profhilo Suited To?

Profhilo is suited to patients experiencing early to moderate signs of skin ageing where the concern is quality and texture rather than volume loss or deep folds. A consultation with Prof. Hindocha will confirm whether it is the most appropriate treatment for your skin.

  • Patients noticing reduced skin firmness, elasticity, or a loss of natural “bounce”
  • Those with crepey texture on the face, neck, décolletage, or hands
  • People who want to improve skin quality without added volume
  • Patients who have tried fillers and found they are not quite the right fit for their goals
  • Those who want a subtle change rather than a change in shape
  • Adults in good general health with no active skin infections or known HA sensitivity

After years of being unhappy with my breasts after breastfeeding, I'm so glad I trusted my instincts and waited until I found the right surgeon. From my first consultation, Professor Hindocha made me feel completely at ease and I knew I could trust him. I'm only a week post-op and already love my results. I feel incredibly lucky to have found him and truly believe I found the best surgeon.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions About Profhilo

Honest answers to what we hear most often.

Dermal fillers add volume and stay in a specific location to add structure or contour. Profhilo spreads evenly beneath the skin and adds no volume. It is designed to hydrate the skin and improve its quality. The result is improved skin quality rather than changed facial features.
A topical anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment. Profhilo uses very fine needles and the BAP technique limits injection points to five per side. Most patients describe mild pressure and a brief pinprick.
Any effect of a two-session course typically lasts around 6 months. A single maintenance session every 6 months is recommended if you want to keep it up.
The standard protocol is two sessions, four weeks apart. The first session triggers the bio-remodelling response; the second amplifies and sustains it. After the initial course, one maintenance session every 6 months is typically sufficient.
Profhilo is most commonly used on the face and neck, but can also treat the décolletage and hands, where crepey texture and laxity are often noticeable. Your treatment plan will specify the most relevant areas for your concerns.
Yes. Profhilo is often used alongside dermal fillers, with Profhilo addressing skin quality and fillers addressing volume loss. PRP also layers well. Sequencing is discussed at consultation.
