RESTORE. RECLAIM. RENEW.
A tailored combination of surgical procedures to restore your pre-pregnancy shape after childbirth and breastfeeding — addressing changes that diet and exercise simply cannot fix.
ABOUT THIS PROCEDURE
A mummy makeover is a customised combination of surgical procedures that addresses the physical changes pregnancy and breastfeeding leave behind. This typically includes a tummy tuck to remove excess abdominal skin and repair separated stomach muscles, breast surgery to lift sagging breasts or restore lost volume, and liposuction to eliminate stubborn fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise.
Designed for mothers who want to reclaim their pre-pregnancy body, a mummy makeover tackles concerns including deflated or drooping breasts, loose hanging skin on the stomach, stretched abdominal muscles (diastasis recti), and persistent fat on the hips, thighs, or waist. The procedures are performed together in one operation, delivering comprehensive results with a single recovery period.
Prof. Hindocha tailors every mummy makeover individually — no two are the same. Following a thorough consultation to understand your concerns, goals, and health, a precise surgical plan is developed to deliver the best possible result for your specific anatomy and circumstances.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
A mummy makeover is not a fixed package — it is a bespoke plan. These are the procedures most commonly included.
TUMMY TUCK
Removes excess abdominal skin, tightens the abdominal wall, and repairs separated stomach muscles (diastasis recti) — restoring a flatter, firmer stomach.
BREAST SURGERY
Lifts and reshapes deflated or drooping breasts after breastfeeding, or restores lost volume with augmentation. The right approach depends on your anatomy and goals.
FAT REMOVAL
Targets and removes stubborn fat deposits on the hips, thighs, flanks, and waist that have not responded to diet and exercise, refining the overall body contour.
YOUR BESPOKE PLAN
Not every patient needs all three procedures. Prof. Hindocha advises on exactly which combination is appropriate for your goals and anatomy — nothing more, nothing less.
PROCEDURE OVERVIEW
Every mummy makeover is unique — here is a general guide to the key details.
Surgery Time
Anaesthesia
Hospital Stay

Supporting Garment
The exact surgical approach — augmentation, reduction, lift or combination — is determined at consultation based on your individual anatomy and goals.
RECOVERY JOURNEY
Weeks 1–2
The first two weeks are focused on rest. You will have limited mobility and should arrange support at home for yourself and your children. Follow all wound care instructions carefully and attend your first post-operative appointment within week one.
Weeks 2–4
Most patients return to light, desk-based activities within one to two weeks. Short gentle walks are encouraged from week two. Avoid lifting, driving, or anything that strains the abdominal area. Continue wearing your supportive garment.
Weeks 4–6
By four to six weeks, most patients are cleared for light exercise such as swimming and walking. Strenuous activity and heavy lifting should still be avoided until Prof. Hindocha confirms you are ready at your follow-up appointment.
Months 3–6
Your final results emerge gradually as swelling fully resolves and the body settles. By three to six months, the full extent of your transformation is visible — a figure that reflects the comprehensive work of your mummy makeover.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES
A mummy makeover delivers results that no diet, exercise programme, or non-surgical treatment can replicate — a comprehensive restoration of the body after the physical demands of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
A QUESTION WE HEAR OFTEN
This is one of the most common questions raised at mummy makeover consultations, and it deserves a clear, honest answer. The tummy tuck and liposuction components of a mummy makeover do not affect breastfeeding ability at all. Breast surgery is the relevant consideration.
Breast lift surgery reshapes and repositions existing breast tissue — the milk ducts and nipple-areola complex are typically preserved, and breastfeeding after a lift is possible in many cases, though not guaranteed. Breast augmentation places an implant beneath or above the muscle and does not generally interfere with breastfeeding, though outcomes vary individually.
For this reason, Prof. Hindocha strongly recommends completing breastfeeding — ideally for at least three to six months before surgery — and that your family is complete before undergoing a mummy makeover. This ensures the best surgical result and eliminates the risk of future pregnancies undoing the work. These important questions are always discussed openly at your consultation.
WHY CHOOSE US
Prof. Sandip Hindocha is an award-winning consultant plastic surgeon with extensive experience in complex, combined body contouring procedures including mummy makeovers across the UK.
Combining procedures means one anaesthetic, one hospital stay, one recovery period, and one comprehensive result — giving you back your pre-pregnancy body as efficiently as possible.
There is no standard mummy makeover package. Every plan is built around your specific anatomy, concerns, and goals. Only the procedures you need are included.
The team provides detailed aftercare guidance, scar management protocols, and regular follow-up appointments throughout your recovery to ensure the best possible outcome.
TIMING IS EVERYTHING
There is no single right age for a mummy makeover — but there are clear indicators that the timing is right. The most important is that your family is complete. A future pregnancy after surgery would undo many of the results, particularly the tummy tuck, so waiting until you are certain you have had your last child is strongly recommended.
Weight stability is equally important — being at or near your target weight for at least six months before surgery allows Prof. Hindocha to plan the procedure accurately and ensures your results are as lasting as possible. Significant weight changes after surgery will affect your outcome.
Family is complete, no more pregnancies planned
Stable weight for at least six months
